USCG Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs

Keeping Our Waterways Safe with Simple and Affordable Drug Testing

Employees regulated by the United States Coast Guard must complete random drug testing to ensure they stay safe on the job, but we know for many employers this is just one more item on the to-do list. At the American Drug Testing Consortium, USCG drug testing has been our specialty for over 30 years. When you become a consortium member, we’ll contact you anytime a screening is required, so you can focus on running your crew.

Your Trusted Compliance Partner

Non-compliance with USCG drug testing can have huge repercussions for your branch. Not only can you be held liable for employee errors and face large fines, you may also damage your department’s reputation. Don’t take chances with your compliance. Trust the consortium with:

ADTC Drug Testing Services

Our goal at ADTC is to reduce the burden of drug testing on regulated employers, which is why we offer 24/7 support and partner with over 20,000 testing locations nationwide, including Quest, LabCorp, and Alere. With online test ordering and paperless reporting, USCG drug testing has never been easier.

Pre-employment drug tests are required for new hires in any business regulated by the USCG. We will help implement industry best practices to determine if your employees are using illicit substances or abusing prescription medication, so you can be confident in your workforce’s ability to perform tasks safely.

We will run quarterly random selections at the federally required percentage. We will notify you by email if you are selected and what type of test needs to be performed (drug only or drug and alcohol). You will then be able to schedule and pay for your random test through our simple members-only portal.

Our clients rely on us for expert guidance, and we welcome any questions about our drug testing program. During a USCG audit, rest assured we will answer the phone and assist you immediately with any questions or requests for documentation. We will even talk directly to the auditor on your behalf at no additional charge.

The Medical Review Officer (MRO) plays an essential role in drug testing. They ensure the test has the proper documentation and determine if there is a medically legitimate reason for a positive test (such as prescription medications). We keep this function in-house, enabling us to get your results much more quickly than if another company did it.

USCG-regulated businesses must meet DOT requirements for drug and alcohol education and supervisor education (reasonable suspicion training). We have online courses available for purchase that fulfill these requirements and provide documentation of completion.

"I'm so happy we found ADTC! As a startup company, we were not expecting an FAA inspection on our Drug Abatement program, and we were dinged for a couple of items that we were not aware of. An internet search revealed many consortiums, but how to choose?
